Chimera is a superhero story completed over four months in 2023. Tejasi Thool created the comic book, Sooky Byun animated the trailer, and I rendered all interiors used in both mediums. In the world of Chimera, several species of Amazonian animals are going extinct. A team of scientists, led by Dr. Maya Patel, travels to the Amazon to research preserving these species. Their work catches the attention of renowned American scientist Dr. Malakai Draven, who offers to fully fund their research at his facility.
One by one, Malakai sends Maya's team away, claiming they need to gather more samples in the Amazon. However, Maya soon discovers her entire team is being experimented on against their will in the basement of Draven Laboratories. Confronting Malakai, she learns of his plan to advance human evolution by injecting people with animal DNA containing technology that imparts dangerous animal traits, such as venom from a snake.
Determined to save her friends, Maya attempts to create an antidote but is pursued by a hybrid creature sent by Malakai. In a desperate move, she injects herself with a jellyfish serum she had been developing, transforming her body and giving her new abilities to defend herself. She escapes and adopts the persona of Chimera, dedicating herself to saving her friends and stopping Malakai's sinister plans.

Amazonian Tent
This temporary tent for 9 people is equipped with essential laboratory equipment, strategically positioned for easy access to the surrounding wildlife. Designed to be open and minimalistic, the tent emphasizes a sterile environment despite its remote Amazon location. Inside, sleek stainless-steel surfaces and neatly arranged instruments maintain a sense of clinical precision, while the transparent zip "door" allow researchers to remain visually connected to the natural world they are studying.
JFK Airport
The interior of John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) features spacious terminals with high ceilings and abundant natural light. Modern amenities include sleek seating areas to combine functionality with style. Dr. Maya Patel and her team fly back from the Amazon landing at JFK.

Draven Laboratories
Dr. Malakai Draven's office is notably larger than typical research offices, reflecting his ego and his desire to oversee all activities within his facility. The interior features a muted, modern color palette, creating a stark contrast to Chimera's vibrant and dynamic style. The spacious room is furnished with sleek, minimalist furniture, high-tech equipment, and expansive windows that offer a commanding view of the entire laboratory complex.
Beneath Dr. Draven's expansive office lies a clandestine level, accessed through a discreet entrance, leading to the basement where he conducts illicit and perilous experiments on unsuspecting subjects. The significance of the color blue permeates this hidden realm, casting an eerie hue that adds an unsettling ambiance, hinting at the secrecy and manipulation lurking within.
Aligned meticulously across from the chambers housing his creations, an array of monitors stands sentinel, each screen a window into Draven's domain. With these monitors, he maintains vigilant surveillance over his hybrids, their every move scrutinized with an unwavering gaze. The presence of these monitors not only underscores Draven's control but also serves as a constant reminder of the power dynamics at play within his underground domain.
Chimera Headquarters
Chimera's headquarters stands as a haunting relic of industrial might, its bustling halls now cloaked in eerie silence and decay. The abandoned structure exudes a sense of faded grandeur, with rusted trusses, crumbling walls, and boarded windows.
Within the cavernous interior, shafts of dim light filter, casting long shadows across vast expanses of empty floor space. The overgrown vines and trees serve as a space training ground for Chimera, providing her with a secluded space to hone her extraordinary abilities.
